This project was completed in the fall of 2019 in collaboration with the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego. Students' own work was influenced by two of the museum's exhibitions at the time:
- Marnie Weber's Songs that Never Die and Other Stories
- Richard Allen Morris' More Like a Forest: Painting and Sculptures

Project Reflection
Thoughts from the other side of my first project!
This project was an incredible introduction to project-based learning. In my first few months at HTHNC, I saw firsthand how reading a play can bring out students' voices in a classroom, how creating modern art can put all students' perspectives and skills on display, and how a public audience—and preparing to speak in front of them—can elevate students' work and give them confidence that carries throughout the year. |
